Pirate volleyball sweeps AE for 6th win in a row

HARROD__The visiting Bluffton High School volleyball team swept local rival Allen East in the Northwest Conference spike opener on Tuesday, September 9.
The Pirate girls swept the Mustangs 25-17, 25-9, 25-21 to record their sixth straight win.
Bluffton improved to 7-3 overall and 1-0 in the NWC after the road win. AE fell to 2-6 and 0-1 in NWC play with the defeat.
Karlie Lora led the victors with 14 kills. Kendall Stackhouse smacked down 13 kills, while Lainey Grandey added nine kills.
Camryn Fruchey dished out 21 assists, while Adelyn Althaus doled out 20 helpers.
Lora hustled up 10 digs, and Vanessa Cross came up with nine digs.
Grandey served up four aces, while Lora dealt three aces.
Lora and Fruchey came up with one block apiece.
The Bluffton JV beat AE, 2-1. The Pirate freshmen also won, 2-0.
The Pirates host Delphos Jefferson (2-6, 0-0 NWC) Thursday, Sept. 11. They then visit Defiance Tinora (7-1) with Ottawa Hills in a non-league tri-match Saturday morning.
