Pirate boys soccer blanks Lincolnview

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School boys soccer team swamped visiting Lincolnview 6-0 in a Northwest Conference match on Senior Night at Steinmetz Field on Monday, September 29.
First-place Bluffton improved to 4-8-3 overall and 3-0 in NWC play with the convincing victory. The Pirates are still on course to repeat as league champions again after the lopsided victory.
Lincolnview fell to 2-8-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the NWC after the defeat.
Bluffton scored first in the 20th minute on a Lincolnview own goal.
The Pirates went ahead 2-0 in the 33rd minute after Ollie Combs netted a goal. The score stayed 2-0 into halftime.
Chase Kelly extended the margin to 3-0 when he tallied a goal in the 43rd minute.
Brahlen August stretched the lead to 4-0 when he scored in the 60th minute.
Two minutes later, Pirate Ethan Blount hit the back of the net to provide a 5-0 cushion.
Xavier Navarro closed the scoring with a goal in the 74th minute.
In the junior varsity undercard, Bluffton lost to Ada 2-0 in a match preceding the varsity bout.
The Pirates play at WBL leader Celina (7-3-3, 4-0-1 WBL) on Saturday, October 4. Celina shut out Bath 4-0 on Monday.
Bluffton then hosts non-league foe Kalida (7-2-4) in the regular season finale on Oct. 9.
