Jeffery Wayne Dye served in the U.S. Army

Jeffery Wayne Dye, 70, passed away on October 18, 2025, at his residence in Bluffton. Jeffery was born June 23, 1955, in Lima, Ohio to the late James and Peach (Wireman) Dye. On December 23, 1974, he married Cynthia Bucher Dye, who preceded him in death on November 28, 2018. 

Jeff retired from Phillips Corporation in Ottawa. He was a jack of all trades. Jeff was an outdoorsman who especially loved fishing and camping. He was a licensed ham radio operator, but most of all Jeff loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was proud to have served in the U.S. Army.  

Survivors include two children, Jeff (Kari) Dye of Marysville, Amy (Brad) McKee of Mount Cory; six grandchildren, Connor, Austin, Adilyne, Maia, Leo and Lainey; three brothers, James (Deborah) Dye, Mike (Pam) Dye, Mickey (Lisa) Dye; two sisters, Barbara (Tom) Collier, Melissa Woodruff and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Jeff was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael and a sister, Doris Dye.

Jeff's memorial service will begin at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
