Wilma Joyce Laeufer was a homemaker
Wilma Joyce Laeufer, 92, passed away on October 26, 2025, at Lima Memorial Health System. Wilma was born January 9, 1933, in Cairo, Ohio, to the late Donald and Helen (Harpster) Anderson. On September 19, 1956, she married Jackie "Jack" Laeufer, who preceded her in death on June 19, 2020.
Wilma graduated from Columbus Grove High School and was a homemaker. Wilma and her husband Jack were very instrumental in bringing awareness to the missing POW-MIA members of the Armed services. They volunteered with many other families across the United States in bringing home those POW-MIA members. Wilma also enjoyed being outdoors, mowing and gardening.
Survivors include a son, Russell K. Laeufer of Fort Wayne, Indiana; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a sister, Carolyn Armstrong of Bluffton.
Wilma was preceded in death by a son, Donald M. Laeufer; daughter-in-law, Donna J. Laeufer; a brother, Donald Anderson and a sister, Imogene Bassett.
Wilma’s services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 31, 2025, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services-Bluffton. Burial will be in Campbell Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 31, 2025, at the funeral home.
