Pandora-Gilboa Schools honors graduates with veterans wall display

MEDIA RELEASE__Pandora-Gilboa Local Schools has unveiled a new Veterans Wall display in the main hallway to honor graduates from all branches of the U. S. military. The project, designed by Superintendent Dr. Jeff Wise, recognizes the service and sacrifice of former students who have served their country.

The idea for the display was inspired by local veteran Larry McCullough Sr., who shared with Dr. Wise that he had seen a similar wall at another school. Moved by the suggestion and the opportunity to pay tribute to the district’s veterans, Dr. Wise brought the idea to life at Pandora-Gilboa.

“I’ve always had deep respect for the men and women who have sacrificed so much for all Americans,” said Dr. Wise. “This wall is a small way for our school community to express our gratitude and ensure that our graduates’ service is remembered.”

The Veterans Wall was officially “opened” to veterans on Veterans Day, November 11, 2025, during the school’s annual Veterans Day assembly. The event featured local veterans from the Harter-Williams American Legion Post 536, along with other honored guests who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

The school is continuing to collect names and service information from veteran graduates to include on the display. Dr. Wise encourages any Pandora-Gilboa alumni who have served to reach out to the district so their names can be added.

“This project will continue to grow as we learn more about the many Pandora-Gilboa graduates who answered the call to serve,” Dr. Wise said. “It’s a lasting reminder to our students and community of the courage and dedication of those who came before them.”
