Pirate bowlers open season with loss to Miller City

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School bowling teams opened the season with an extremely close dual match defeat vs. Miller City, playing at Southgate Lanes on Friday evening, November 14.
BOYS RESULTS
By one pin, the Wildcats won the boys match by the narrowest of margins, 2,547-2,546.
Bluffton won the two-game set by 10 pins 1,843 to 1,833. But MC came back to take the Baker series set by 11 to rally and win, 714-703.
Joziah Salazar led Bluffton with a 183-215=398 two-game series to finish third overall out of 10 players. Coby Dailey rolled a 175-208=383 set.
Xavier Navarro bowled a 182-168=350 two-game set for the Pirates. Elijah Nye rolled a 155-193=348 series.
Weston Johnstone bowled a 189 total in game one, while Emmitt Kidd shot 175 in game two.
The Pirates lost the first game, 985-884. Bluffton bounced to win the second match, 959-848.
In the Baker Series, the Pirates rolled a 181-189-144-189=703 total. MC rallied after a slow start to win the Baker Series 130-217-222-145=714.
GIRLS RESULTS
MC won the girls match by a score of 1,042-980. The Wildcats narrowly won the two-game set, 768-760. MC also won the Baker Series, 274-220.
Charlotte Kidd led the Pirate girls and all players with a 197-131=328 two-game series.
Elana Navarro bowled a 117-109=226 two-game set. Natalie Richards rolled a 100-106=206 series.
The Pirates won the first game by a 414-409 score. MC rebounded to take set two 359-346 to lead by eight pins heading into the Baker Series.
Bluffton rolled a 56-62-44-58 score for a Baker total of 220. The Wildcats bowled a Baker score of 67-81-78-48=274 to win it by 54 pins.
Combined with their two-game set win, MC won by 62 pins.
Liberty-Benton was initially scheduled for this date. Miller City stepped in as a replacement.
The Pirates bowl in the Ridgedale Rocket Baker Bash tournament on Saturday, Nov. 15.
Bluffton (0-1, 0-1) hosts Upper Sandusky in a dual match on Friday, Nov. 21.
