MEDIA RELEASE__Bluffton Ohio Historical Society (BOHS) has been selected to receive one of 40 Ohio Preservation Kits designed to help small cultural organizations protect their historical documents.
“The kit includes conservation tools and product samples. We’ll be able to use these to preserve letters, photographs, newspapers, and other documents connected to Bluffton’s past daily life,” says Diane Winebar, BOHS acting archivist.
An educational webinar led by a preservation expert will walk kit recipients through the contents and explain how to best care for their collections.
The Ohio Historical Records Advisory Board and the Ohio Preservation Council are sponsors of the kit project.
A "Building on Bluffton’s Past" campaign is being developed with the goal of acquiring a museum building to showcase BOHS’s expanding collection. The campaign committee, consisting of BOHS members and local residents from Bluffton and nearby areas, encourages public support for this project.
