Fred's best guess: it a Bluffton Bicentennial Parade
"America is a Hankish ice cream cone," announces this parade float and an Icon article by the same name from 2013. Icon founder Fred Steiner estimated that this image dates to 1976. America 250 organizers in Bluffton have a July 4, 2026, parade on their calendar. Have you floated any fun ideas for this celebration? PHOTO FEEDBACK ▶︎
Kenneth Cookson: This photo must have been taken in the late '60s rather than 1976. I graduated from BHS in 1970. Hankish’s was long gone by then. It was gone probably five or so years before 1970. It could have been taken for Bluffton’s Sesquicentenital in the early '60s.
