Bluffton University awards 2026 Presidential Scholarship
MEDIA RELEASE__Brevin Louden, West Liberty, Ohio, has been awarded the university’s full-tuition Presidential Scholarship, valued at more than $156,000 over four years.
A graduate of West Liberty-Salem High School, Louden is involved in numerous academic, athletic and service activities. He has participated in basketball, track and cross country and is a member of the National Honor Society and student council. He has also served as a class officer and been active in Link Crew, the wellness committee, Spanish club, entrepreneurship club and Key Club. Additionally, he volunteers as a student helper, is involved with his church youth group and maintains a part-time job.
Louden attends West Liberty United Church of Christ and is the son of Mike and Melissa Louden of West Liberty.
The Presidential Scholarship Competition brings numerous high-achieving high school seniors to campus each year to write an essay in response to a faculty lecture and previously assigned readings. Invited students had either a 3.75 grade point average or at least a 3.5 grade point average and a composite score of at least 24 on the ACT or 1160 on the SAT.
All students who participated in the competition and choose to attend Bluffton in fall 2026 will receive a $1,000 annual scholarship.
