Pirate baseball loss vs. Carey

CAREY__The Carey High School baseball team shut out visiting Bluffton 12-0 on a rainy Friday, April 10. 

The Blue Devils scored three runs in the first inning, then tallied four times in the third to build a 7-0 lead. The hosts tacked on five runs in the fourth frame to invoke the mercy/run rule.

Carey out-hit the Pirates just 5-3, but drew nine walks and stole seven bases.

Bluffton fell to 0-3 with the loss. Carey improved to 6-1 with the non-league win.

Blue Devils Dash Puckett and Landon Tarris each hit a double and drove in three runs. Benson Kloepfer added two RBI.

David Hall pitched a five-inning complete game shutout to get the win. He struck out 11 and walked one.
