All are invited: Colonial Pastimes and Games, April 18

FROM BSC NEWSLETTER___On Saturday, April 18, from 11 to 1, the Bluffton Senior Center will host Colonial Games and Pastimes as part of America 250 celebration in Bluffton. Eight different games will be played:

  • Jackstones (today we call them jacks)
  • Jackstraws (pick up sticks)
  • Draughts (checkers)
  • Ring Taw (marbles)
  • Whist (a precursor to Bridge and Euchre)
  • Whirligig (button on a string)
  • Graces (a small hoop and stick game played by girls not to be confused with Hoops).

Volunteers will help teach the games to visitors.

Organizers note, "We hope to get families involved and kids off their phones. We also want to invite all of you to bring your family and friends to the event. Maybe you can learn a new game or relive some childhood memories."

The event is free for everyone.
