Pirate tennis sweeps Ada in rain-shortened match

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School boys tennis team defeated visiting local rival Ada 4-0 in a rain-shortened match at on Monday, April 27.
The Pirates improved to 7-2-1 after the win. Bluffton won all eight sets and dropped just three games in the dominant victory.
Ada fell to 0-6 with the loss.
Bluffton senior Grady Coonfare swept Bulldog junior Brandon Prater 6-0, 6-0 at first singles.
Pirate senior Isaiah Kohli beat Ada junior Lawson Klingler 6-1, 6-0 at second singles.
At third singles, senior Nick Lovett felled Ada freshman Lucy Carter 6-0, 6-1.
At first doubles, Pirate senior Hudson Phillips and junior Braydon McClure defeated the Ada junior tandem of Kaytlin Lambert and Jaylin St. Laurent 6-1, 6-0.
Pirate sophomores Micah Lemley and Ezra Nygaard led 1-0 at second doubles when their match was halted by inclement weather.
Bluffton next plays at Ottawa-Glandorf (5-3) on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. The Pirates visit Wapakoneta (5-6) on Thursday.
The Elida tournament is slated for Saturday, May 2 at 9 a.m.
