Bruce Chesser: A Ceramic Retrospective, Aug. 24-Sept 26
UPDATED__The Elzay Gallery of Art at Ohio Northern University is pleased to present Bruce Chesser: A Ceramic Retrospective. The exhibition will be on display from August 24—September 26, 2026. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. (closed Saturday and Sunday). An artist reception will take place during Homecoming Weekend, Saturday, September 26 at 9 a.m.–noon at the Elzay Gallery. The event is free and open to the public.
Professor Emeritus Chesser specializes in contemporary interpretations of traditional functional ceramics. He is a retired professor of art at Ohio Northern, where he taught ceramics for over 30 years.
He also served as chair of the Department of Art & Design for 12 years and served on numerous committees. Previously, he taught at Ohio University, Athens.
Chesser holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in fine arts from OU, participated in more than 100 juried, invitational and one-person art shows, and served as an officer for the Ohio Designer Craftsmen.
Prof. Chesser conducts workshops and lectures on salt-glazing and raku pottery.
