Pirate volleyball drops 2 in close tri-match

MILLER CITY – The Bluffton High School volleyball team lost a close non-league tri-match at unbeaten Miller City with Defiance Tinora on Saturday, August 29.
The Pirate girls fell to 2-4 with the losses.
In Bluffton’s first match, host Miller City lost the first game but rallied to beat the Pirates in three sets 19-25, 25-15, 25-18. Quincy Moenter knocked down 14 kills.
In the second match, Bluffton lost to Tinora in two very tight sets, 25-23, 26-24.
MC also beat Tinora 25-19, 25-20 to improve to 5-0 this season. Tinora is 3-2. Moenter slammed 10 kills vs. the Rams.
The Bluffton JV lost to Miller City 2-1, and fell to Tinora 2-0.
Bluffton plays at WBL foe Elida (0-3) on Tuesday, September 1. The Pirates host Defiance Ayersville (1-2) on Sept. 3.
