Pirate girls soccer blanked by Celina

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School girls soccer team lost 4-0 to unbeaten visiting power Celina on Thursday evening, September 3 at Steinmetz Field.

The Pirate girls dropped to 2-3 with the home defeat.

The WBL Bulldogs improved to 3-0-1 after the shutout win.

Celina scored in the 24th minute to lead 1-0 at halftime, and then put the game out of reach with two goals in the final four minutes.

The Bulldogs found the back of the net in the 46th minute to double the lead to 2-0. Celina scored in the 77th minute, then added their last goal just two minutes later to provide the final margin of four.

Bluffton put three of its six shots on goal. Celina directed five of its 12 shots on frame. 

Bluffton keeper Maelee Miller made one save. The Bulldog keeper was credited with three stops. 

Bluffton (1-0 NWC) plays at Northwest Conference rival Crestview (0-3, 0-0 NWC) on Sept. 8.
