HARROD __The Bluffton High School girls golf team competed in the wet 10-team Div. II sectionals at Colonial Golfers Club in Harrod on Tuesday, Sept. 22.

New Bremen won the girls sectional title with 382 strokes. St. Henry was a distant second at 407. Coldwater ended up third (432), followed by Bath (455), LCC (464) and Bluffton.

The Pirate girls finished sixth with a team total of 480 strokes. They came in ahead of Parkway (484), Marion Local (489), Hardin Northern (524) and last-place Ridgemont (563).

Pirate senior Allison Stechschulte led the team with an 18-hole score of 49-56=105. She finished 14th in the field of 53 golfers. She ended up eight shots behind the final individual district qualifier.

Senior Katie Bauman carded a 55-56=111 round to tie for 19th place. 

Sophomore Marissa Dennis posted a 55-68=123 and came in 29th. 

Sophomore Kaydence Welch was the fourth Pirate girls scorer after she registered a 71-70=141. Welch tied for 40th.

Only the top three teams and top three individuals not on a qualifying team advanced to the district tournament. 

Alyssa Froning of Coldwater earned the sectional championship after firing a 43-45=88.
