Paul Richard Wingate Jr., 79, passed away September 23, 2026, at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. Paul was born April 28, 1947, in Bluffton to the late Paul and Alice (Jones) Wingate Sr. On April 24, 1970, he married Pamela Steele Wingate, who survives. 

Paul was a 1965 graduate of Bluffton High School. He had worked for the Village of Bluffton, Airfoil-Textron, Tower Automotive and retired from the Lima Ford Engine Plant. Paul was involved with the Cairo Sportsman’s Club, and he enjoyed camping, gardening and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife, Pamela Wingate of Bluffton; two sons, Brian (Nicole) Wingate and Brad (Beth) Wingate, both of Bluffton; four grandchildren, Mason (Lydia Barhorst) Wingate, Kinsey (Kolten Viers) Wingate, Bella Wingate, Nathan Wingate; two sisters, Mary (John) Polese of San Diego, California and Shirley Schneck of Pandora; and a brother-in-law, Paul (Marsha) Dudgeon of Wapakoneta.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Sr. and Alice Wingate; a sister, Barbara Dudgeon; and a brother-in-law, Stanley Schneck. 

A private graveside service will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery.
