BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School boys soccer team routed visiting Lima Central Catholic 7-0 in a Northwest Conference match on Monday, Sept. 28 at Steinmetz Field.

The Pirate boys improved to 6-4-2 overall and 2-0 in the NWC with the lopsided win.

LCC dropped to 2-9 overall and 0-2 in NWC play after the defeat.

Emmekkabo Smith netted two goals and made an assist to pace the victors. 

Gavin Amstutz, Chase Kelly, Ashton Ungashick, Colton Kelly each scored one goal. The T-Birds also had an own goal for the seventh and last score. 

Braylen Resendez assisted the Kelly goal, and Smith assisted Ungashick’s netter.

Keeper Ryan Blount made four saves in goal.

Bluffton plays two tough Western Buckeye League foes later this week. They visit WBL leader Ottawa-Glandorf (6-4-2, 5-0-1 WBL) Thursday evening. The Pirates then host Celina (6-0-2, 2-0-2 WBL) Saturday morning.
