VAN WERT__The visiting Bluffton High School volleyball team lost a key three-set league match to Northwest Conference rival Lincolnview on Tuesday evening, Sept. 29.

The opponents entered the battle with almost identical overall and league records.

The Pirate girls fell to 11-6 overall and 3-2 in NWC play with the 25-17, 25-21, 25-22 defeat.

The Lancers improved to 11-5 overall and 4-1 in the NWC after the win that vaulted them into a second-place tie in the league standings with Columbus Grove behind Crestview (4-0).

Karlie Lora hammered 17 kills and came up with two blocks.

Gracie Warren smacked five kills and hustled up 10 digs.

Adrian Birnesser passed out 15 assists. Adelyn Althaus doled out eight assists.

Taylin Goldman mustered eight digs and served up three aces.

The Bluffton junior varsity won, 2-1.
