Pirate volleyball win vs. Spencerville

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School volleyball team swept visiting Spencerville in a Northwest Conference match to celebrate Senior Night on Thursday, October 1.

The Pirate spikers improved to 12-6 overall and 4-2 in the NWC after the 25-15, 25-20, 25-21 win. 

The Bearcats fell to 9-8 overall and 2-4 in NWC play with the road loss.

Senior middle Karlie Lora knocked down 10 kills to pace the Pirate hitters. Taylin Goldman smacked down eight kills. 

Adrian Birnesser passed out 15 assists. Adelyn Althaus dished out 12 assists and dealt seven aces.

Ari Goings came up with 11 digs. Versatile senior Gracie Warren hustled up 10 digs and mustered one block.

Camryn Fruchey made one block.

The Bluffton junior varsity also won in straight sets, 2-0.

Bluffton plays host to unbeaten NWOAL power Patrick Henry (16-0) Monday, Oct. 5. 

The Pirates resume league play Tuesday, Oct. 6 at Delphos Jefferson (9-9, 2-4 NWC) in the conference finale. DJ beat Allen East 3-1 on the road Thursday night.
