The Bluffton Ohio Historical Society is looking for supporters for the 1899 Depot at Buckeye Park, a.k.a. the Bluffton Sportsmen's Club building. That support can come in the shape of rentals or volunteering.

The society manages the 1899 Depot, 405 N. Spring St., and provides the facility for private event rentals as well as for meetings of the Sportsmen's Club, American Legion, Boy Scouts and other organizations.

In its first year of managing the facility, the society has been aided by members and other volunteers who have maintained the building, weeded the flower beds, cleaned the first-floor rooms and assisted with opening and closing the venue.

The facility is breaking even, something the Historical Society would like to see improve so that more updates to the facility can be made. One easily noticeable addition to the facility is a flat-screen monitor. Railroad memorabilia has been added, with more items planned. Additional improvements are planned for the 1899 Depot and are budgeted as part of the three-year BOHS Capital Museum Campaign.

The rentable space includes a large meeting room with plenty of tables and chairs, a kitchen with a refrigerator, stove and a pass-through window to the main room and men's and women's restrooms.

Please call or text BOHS at 419-405-1833 to inquire about scheduling your event at the Depot. Inquiries may also be emailed to [email protected].

The rental fee is $150/day or event.
