Jesse Henry and the Royal Tycoons perform April 2 at Tu Pueblo
Jesse Henry and the Royal Tycoons will perform in the back room at Tu Pueblo Mexican Restaurant, 142 N. Main St., at 8 p.m., Saturday, April 2.
The largely original compositions are a stylistic mixture of blues, jazz, jug band, and folk performed with vibraphone, guitars, saxophone, harmonica, drums and more.
This group debuted at the 2009 Columbus Community Festival (ComFest) where they generated crowd enthusiasm the stage manager claimed to have never seen in the 20 years she had been managing the stage.
JH and the Tycoons energetically perform tunes of contemporary and timeless topics with vocals, harmony, and instrumental imagination.
Henry is a Bluffton native who, as a high school student, played saxophone as a member of the high school and Bluffton College jazz bands. Hee and the band members live in Columbus where they make their living as professional musicians. The "Tu Puebllo" fare of food and drink will be available for ordering. A cover charge of $5 for the music will be charged at the back door.
