Erma M. Arnold, 90, died at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton, at 5:45 a.m., Dec. 3, 2009. She was born March 3, 1919, to John D. and Josie Shaffer Miller in Monroe Township, Allen County. On Nov. 23, 1936, she married Arthur Arnold and he survives.

Mrs. Arnold was a homemaker and had worked 10 years at Triplett Corp., Bluffton. She was a life member of the Pleasant View Church of the Brethren where she belonged to the Women's Fellowship, the Fidelity Circle and a member of R.F.T.M. class. She had held many offices in the church being a trustee, former deaconess, served on the church board and various committees. She belonged to the Friendly Neighbors Club.

Survivors include, Arthur, her husband of Bluffton; a son, Roger (Bertha) Arnold, Stow, Ohio; a daughter, Jean Ann (Dan) Gleason, Bluffton; daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Arnold, Roach, Mo.; and a sister-in-law, Irene Miller, Bluffton.

Other surviviors include grandchildren: Susan Verhes, Beth (Tom) Stasiak, David Arnold, Tasha Capozzi, Mike (Sandy) Gleason, Cindy (Jim) Vasill, Scott (Tiffany) Gleason, Dawn (Russ) Kuhlman, Matt (Starr) Arnold and Jackie (Joe) Bruce.

She is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter and one step great-great granddaughter.

Preceeding her in death were a son, John Arnold, two brothers, Harold and Lloyd Miller and three sisters, Freda Cool, Carrie Landes and Dorothy Jean Miller.

A funeral service is at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at Pleasant View Church of the Brethren, rural Lima. Officiating are Rev. Mark Bowyer and Rev. David Thompson.

Visitation is Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Bluffton. Burial is at Lewis Grove Cemetery, Lima. Memorials may be made to the Pleasant View Church of the Brethren.
