Bluffton's sesquicentennial parade, planned for Saturday, July 2, is now accepting entries.
Junior Weihrauch of Arlington, one of the best parade coordinators in northwestern Ohio, is the parade director. He handles the Bluffton Blaze of Lights parades.
Weihrauch told The Icon that he is inviting all Bluffton community groups including church groups, clubs, businesses and organizations to consider entering a float or parade unit.
The parade line up and staging area begins at noon on Saturday, July 2, on East College Avenue at Railroad Street.
Parade route
The parade route goes from the staging area to Main Street. At Main, it turns north to Elm Street. At Elm, it turns west to Bentley Road. At Bentley Road it turns south to the Bluffton University buildings and grounds area where it ends.
The length of the parade is approximately one-half mile.
Weihrauch has sent out invitations to most community organizations and businesses and he urging them to consider entering a unit for this once-in-a-lifetime parade.
