Novel destination silent auction continues through June 4
Looking for fun this summer? Relaxation? Adventure? History? Culture? Bluffton Public Library has something for everyone in its "Novel Destinations" silent auction.
More than 30 items are available, including bed and breakfast stays at the historic Inn at Irwin Gardens, the Housley House, the Pines of Dresden, Simple Pleasures, the Dunkle One-room Schoolhouse and the Gingerbread House on Little Traverse Bay.
Tickets are also available for whitewater rafting, scenic railway rides, a Put-in-Bay ferry trip, canal boat rides, river cruises, German Haus & Garten tour, festivals, historic gardens, museums, light opera and much more.
From now until June 3, bid sheets will be at Bluffton Public Library, 145 S. Main St. On June 4, bid sheets will be at the Bluffton Golf Club, 8575 Dixie Hwy., during the Friends of the Library Golf Scramble.
Bidders are not required to golf, though the Friends will be happy to accept some walk-in registrations for the golf scramble. Silent auction bidding will conclude at 2 p.m. on June 4.
A silent auction catalog is available in the library and online at www.blufftonpubliclibrary.org and Facebook. Those who wish to bid anonymously may do so by visiting the library circulation desk to register prior to placing bids.
Patrons who visit Novel Destination sponsors featured in the Library's silent auction or photo contest are invited to send a postcard to the library or drop off an admission receipt with contact information to be entered into an end-of-summer mystery prize drawing.
All proceeds help the library sustain service hours and continue essential early literacy and lifelong learning programs while absorbing ongoing state funding cuts that exceed 30 percent per year ($80,000).
