Strong to severe thunderstorms anticipated later today
AEP provides the following weather-related information for the Icon viewing area:
More Scattered Strong Thunderstorms
This Afternoon/Evening for AEP Ohio
More strong to severe thunderstorms for AEP East utilities today. A warm, humid air mass continues over the region. A cold front and strong upper level system will initiate thunderstorm development thisafternoon across the entire region.
The highest threat is expected over northern Indiana and northwest Ohio where a broken line of strong-severethunderstorms will develop along the cold front by late-afternoon, which will move into northern Ohio by early evening and out of the region by 8pm. The biggest threat will be wind gusts of 55-65 m.p.h. for the broken line of severe thunderstorms and gusts of 45-55 m.p.h for the scattered strong thunderstorms.
