Letter: Thank you letter carriers for help in food drive
Icon viewers:
The Bluffton community can be proud of its mail carriers. Each year for the past several years, our local mail carriers who are members of the National Association of Letter and Rural Carriers have participated in the national Stamp Out Hunger Campaign.
On the second Saturday in May, our carriers not only deliver our mail, but pick up groceries that we leave on our doorsteps to be distributed to the needy in our area.
As the director of the Bluffton Community Assistance Corporation, I am grateful for the groceries provided by the campaign in Bluffton. Summer always seems to be a slow time for groceries to come in. This food drive provides a big boost to our summer selection.
Many thanks to the mail carriers who were willing to tote around groceries while on their routes, and thanks to those who donated.
Respectfully,
Paula McKibben
Director, Bluffton Community Assistance Corporation
