Richland Manor donates 4,400 pounds of food; gives $500 donation to Bluffton food pantry
Richland Manor donated 4,400 pounds of food to the Bluffton Community Assistance Program's food pantry this week.
Barry Schneck Community Service representative of Richland Manor, said that the food was collected during a June old car cruise-in. In addition to the food that was donated, Richland Manor also provided a $500 check to the food pantry.
Paula McKibben, food pantry coordinator, said that 30 families in the community use the pantry and that about 900 items are needed each month to seek the pantry stocked.
"We really appreciate this donation," she said. "Our supply was getting low and this will keep us going for a few more weeks."
Schneck said that Trilogy Health Services, the parent company of Richland Manor, donated 550,00 pounds of food throughout its entire system to local food pantries over the past year.
