Construction changes visitor parking on Bluffton campus
Parking for visitors to Bluffton University's campus will be altered during ongoing construction of the Health and Fitness Education Center (HFEC).
"Visitors and guests are important members of our campus community. It is important to us that during the construction efforts, we make parking spaces available to these guests and those persons who use handicapped parking areas," said Kevin Nickel, vice president for fiscal affairs. "We hope the temporary parking shortage does not deter guests from enjoying Bluffton University campus events."
The lot directly north of Founders Hall has 15 parking spaces reserved for visitor and handicapped parking. The Elm Street lot is also open to visitors as spaces are available. Guests and visitors should follow the red and white construction-zone parking signs.
A few visitor spots will also be available in the Bentley Road lot, where most of Bluffton's students will be parking this year.
During the construction process, overflow visitor parking will be available in the Sauder Visual Arts Center lot. In the past, this lot was reserved for students, faculty and staff.
After construction of the center is complete in fall 2012, more parking spaces will be available around the Elm Street entrance than before the addition of the HFEC.
