Icon's new feature makes it easier to post a comment
If you've suddenly noticed more comments on The Icon it's because we've added a new commenting feature.
The new commenting system makes it easy for any user to comment on a story, or for other users to reply, like, or subscribe to comments via email. The new commenting system is a step forward in providing an easier and more enjoyable experience for our viewers.
Like the old system, viewers are able to post comments as a guest, in order to remain anonymous, but must enter an email address in order to prevent spam.
The email address is not displayed to anyone, but is required for a comment. Users may also post their comment using a variety of third-party logins, such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, Disqus, Yahoo, or OpenID.
The benefit to offering these multiple services is that viewers can use an existing account to post their comment immediately, rather than waiting for approval.
In order to use this feature, the viewer simply types their comment, clicks "Post as ..." and selects their service. When posting with a Facebook account, users can also choose to post their comment on Facebook.
Another new feature that was introduced with the new commenting system was the addition of images. Viewers can now include images in a comment, which allows users to contribute to the discussion with photos of their own.
Icon viewers are encouraged to join the discussion by trying out the new commenting system. Please email [email protected] with any questions.
