Cecilia "Tootie" Schlumbohm 1922-2009
Cecilia "Tootie" (Konrad) Schlumbohm passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009 at the Hilty Memorial Home in Pandora, Ohio where she had been a resident for a year. She was born on Feb. 4, 1922 to Eugene and Mary (Meder) Konrad in Milton Township. She married Richard Schlumbohm on April 14, 1945 and he preceded her in death in 1990.
She is survived by her children, Ron (Sherry) Schlumbohm, Gilboa, Ohio, Katie (Ron) Pehrson, Findlay, Ohio, and John (Sue) Schlumbohm, Pandora, Ohio.
Also surviving are grandchildren Matt (Shannon) Schlumbohm, Melanie (Brent) Bockrath, Ryan (Amy) Schlumbohm, Michelle (Matt) Stimmel, Gina Schlumbohm and Becca Schlumbohm and great-grandchildren (the love of her life) Mena Schlumbohm, Madison and Mikalya Bockrath, Olivia Stimmel, and Anna and Johnathan Schlumbohm.
Also surviving are brothers Louis and Bob Konrad and many nieces and nephews; she was predeceased by brothers Charles and Lawrence and sisters Clara Kline, Pauline Rahrig, Ruth Goris, Frances Goris and Agnes Rahrig. She was one of 10 children.
She was a farm wife and worked alongside her husband on their farm until their retirement before his death.
Her remains were donated to the Medical University of Toledo, internment shall be at a later date. A memorial mass will be held Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Bluffton. Ohio. The family will receive guests for two hours prior to mass, and at the luncheon after mass, in the church narthex.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's church where she was a life-long member or to the charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Bluffton.
