The "art beat" goes on at Bluffton elementary this year
Claude Monet, Georges Rouault, Pieter Bruegel, Andrew Wyeth and Norman Rockwell will visit Bluffton elementary students and share their art in this year's Art Beat program.
The program, created by volunteers, has been part of the school's calendar since the early 1980s, according to Jeanette Reineke, who with Diane Neal, lead the program.
This year's art presenters, all volunteers, include Sally Jones, Libby Hostetler, Nancy Yeager, Joanne Krugh, Reineke and Neal. Nicole Anderson, elementary art teacher, assists the program.
"Art Beat's purpose is to keep the arts alive in our school," Reineke told The Icon. On four Friday's in October, presenters will tell about the artist of the month to Bluffton second, third, fourth and fifth graders.
The program will be on hold in November and December and will pick up again in January, February, March and April.
