Universal U Store It expansion underway this fall
Bluffton's first-self storage facility is expanding. Steve McFadden, of Universal U Store It, 158 E. College Ave., told The Icon that the expansion project now underway should be completed by mid-October.
He said that the current expansion is the storage facility's fourth. The expansion consists of 5,320 square feet and will include four 10-by-6-foot units, six 10-by-5.5-foot-units, 10 10-by-15-foot units, 12 10-by-8 foot units and 12 10-by-20 foot units. There will be 44 new units once the expansion is complete.
Currently Universal U Store It has 80 inside storage units including six climate-controlled units, plus outside storage available for boats, trailers, RVs and similar vehicles.
The expansion will make a total of 124 inside storage rental units totaling 17,928 square feet.
McFadden constructed the first storage units on the property in 1989. The second units went up in 1990 and the third in 2004.
He said that video surveilance equipment will be added around the entire complex soon.
"Watch our website www.bluffton-ohio-storage.com for pricing and upcoming specials once our new building is completed," said McFadden. The storage facility has 24-hour access.
