Men's soccer: Mount St. Joseph pitches 3-0 shutout at Bluffton

The Bluffton University men's soccer team fell 3-0 to Mt. St. Joseph on Saturday, Sept. 24. With the loss, the Beavers are now 0-9 this season with a 0-1 mark in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. The Lions improved to 1-0 in the HCAC and 3-5 overall.
Lee Rodgers scored the first goal for MSJ at the 13:06 mark. Fellow Lion Timothy Pope scorched the back of the net twice in the contest, 32:41 and 60:39, to give MSJ the 3-0 shutout over Bluffton.
Nate Byrum (London) generated three shots for the Beavers. Senior keeper Dan Saville (Toledo/Central Catholic) collected 12 saves in the contest.
Mount St. Joseph outshot Bluffton 24-5 and were whistled for 19 fouls and three yellow cards. The Beavers were called for 17 fouls, two yellow cards and they forced three more corner kicks (5-2) than the visitors.
The Bluffton University men's soccer team will return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 28, when the Beavers host Rochester College. The contest is scheduled for 4 p.m.
