Hip-hop Christian band coming to Founders Hall Oct. 6
Group 1 Crew, a Dove Award-winning hip-hop trio, will headline a free concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, in Bluffton University's Founders Hall. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
Open to the public, the concert is part of the band's Outta Space Love Tour, also featuring fellow Christian artists Rachael Lampa, Rapture Ruckus and Shonlock.
Group 1 Crew, which will perform music from its current release "Outta Space Love," has received five Dove Awards from the Gospel Music Association-three for Rap/Hip-Hop Album of the Year and two for Rap/Hip-Hop Recorded Song. The band's music has appeared on several TV shows, including NBC's "America's Got Talent."
Concert sponsors are Bluffton's Campus Ministries, Marbeck Center Board, multicultural affairs office, Project HOME (Hope, Opportunity, Mentorship and Education) and Student Organizations United in Leadership (SOUL).
