BFR Sports & Fitness offers youth sport clinics and adult conditioning programs
As the weather turns colder, BFR offers more options for youth and adults to keep active. Sport clinics will include basic skill instructioncombined with game play. Clinics will be offered for basketball and indoor soccer and free sessions of the Quickstart Tennis program for 10 and under age players will be included as well. For adults looking for an advanced workout, the next session of Ultimate Fit will begin on Oct. 31.
Bball skills
Area youth (grades 3, 4, 5 and 6) are encouraged to register for a 4-week basketball skills clinic to be held at BFR. The basketball clinic will run on Thursdays (Oct. 27-Nov. 17) and will include review of ball handling skills combined with game based drills.

Indoor soccer
Area youth (ages 7, 8 and 9) are welcome to participate in the U10 Indoor Soccer Program to be held at BFR on Mondays beginning Nov.7. Players will practice foot skills as well as learn how to use the walls for passing.
The emphasis in this class is on indoor soccer game play. Prior soccer experience is helpful, but not necessary. The program will be held from 4-5:15 PM on Mondays (Nov. 7-Dec. 5). Cost per player is $35 ($20 BFR members). Van service from Bluffton Schools is available for a nominal fee. Registration is required, call BFR at 419-358-4150.
Youth tennis
Youth ages 5-10 years of age can be introduced to the game of tennis
through BFR's Quickstart Tennis program. The U.S. Tennis Association has made changes to the way tennis is taught to young children.
The 10 and Under Tennis philosophy uses small courts with lower nets and low-bounce balls for the introductory program. Quickstart introduces the forehand and backhand strokes and uses a variety of fun activities to practice eye-hand coordination.
Also emphasized in Quickstart is game play and scoring. New and returning tennis players are welcome to try out this method during 3 FREE sessions to be held on Friday, Oct. 28, Nov. 4 and Nov. 11 from 4:30-5:30 PM. No advance registration is required for the free sessions.
Ultimate Fit
Ultimate Fit is BFR's high intensity, group workout program. Under the direction of a BFR trainer, participants are challenged with
body-resistance exercises, agility work, strength training and
conditioning.
Ultimate Fit is packaged by the month with 12 sessions included. As the month progresses, the workouts increase in intensity.
While some modifications can be made, Ultimate Fit is designed for those who are already active in a workout routine. Groups are offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 5:30-6:30AM and on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7-8 PM. Each group is limited to 10, so advance registration is encouraged. Cost for a month of Ultimate Fit is $60 ($35BFR members).
Track pass
Track Pass and Recreation Passes available for indoor activity at BFR. A 6 month unlimited indoor tract pass is offered during the winter months. Cost for the Track Pass is $80.25 or $70.25 for senior adults over the age of 55 years.
