Two December performances by Wendy Chappell-Dick and friends
Wendy Chappell-Dyck, along with several friends, will perform "Song of Forests and Thorns," twice this month.
Their performances are:
• Monday, Dec. 7, at 6:30 p.m., at the Bluffton Public Library
• Saturday, Dec. 18, 9 to 11 p.m., at the Mustard Seed Cafe
Joing her are Teri Sato on bowed psaltry, Steve Harnish on recorder and Jan Wiebe on flute and vocal harmony. Chappell Dick will perform on chello and dulcimer.
"Christmas is a time of contrasts," says Chappell-Dick. "We sing of trees, yet cut them down. We hear legends of thorn bushes that mysteriously bloom blossoms in the winter. It is a time of longest nights and brightest candles."
"Come explore the mysteries of Christmas with me through song, both ancient and modern. I'll be singing about wassail, wise men, and all the holy trees of the season," she said.
