Tuesday book signing at public library for "The Bluffton We Never Knew"
Bluffton Public Library will hold a book signing at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 27, for Fred Steiner's "The Bluffton We Never Knew" photo history book.
The book, released this year, includes nearly 170 photos of Bluffton from 1861 to 1911, representing the first half-century of the village.
The book includes chapters on:
• Main Street
• Churches
• People at work
• Our neighbors (Bluffton residents)
• Where we lived (Bluffton houses)
• The Rileys and our quarries
• The old school (16 class school photos)
• A college town
• Going places (early vehicles, railroads and interurbans)
• Two families (photos of the author's Bluffton ancestors)
In addition, the book includes a village plat map from 1880, information about Will Triplett, pioneer Bluffton photographer, and a list of Bluffton milestones from 1820 to 1911.
Copies of the book will be on sale at $19.95 plus $1.35 tax.
