The day the farm came to town
That's Bob Flick, Larry (a 1,300-pound Maine Anjou market steer), and Jason Althaus, steer owner, at a Bluffton Cattle Club 4-H show at Mennonite Memorial Home.
Several members of the club shows their animals with MMH residents. The club has 17 members from ages 9 to 17, and is not just limited to cattle owners, as you will see in these photos.
Jason, a Bluffton High School senior, says he has two more steers at home. This one is 15 months old and Jason wants to get it to 1,400 pounds before the August Allen County Fair.
Other animals on display:
• Bryce Sehlhorst with his two-month-old kitten, Nightshift.
• Landon Sehlhorst with Anna, one of 19 pigmy goats on the Sehlhorst farm.
• Riley Herriman, with Jed, her Sheltland pony.
• Bentley Webb, with his 11-day-old Holstein bull calf.
• Ashley Edmunds, friend of Britney Webb, with Talladega, a quarter horse.
