This family lived west of Ebenezer Mennonite Church on Grove Road one-quarter mile east of the Hilty school.
In addition to Steiner, Hochstettler, Diller and Sumney, persons in Bluffton today who are related to this family includes many whose last names are Zimmerman, Reichenbach, Neuenschwander, Oyer and Moyer.
Abraham Steiner was born in 1826 to John and Elizabeth Stauffer Steiner. He married Katharina Hubscher, who died of black typhoid fever three months following the marrige.
Abraham then married Mary Ann Kohler Hochstetter, who was recently widowed. Mary Ann had an eight-month-old daugher, Susan, from her first marriage. Susan, oldest person in this photo was born in 1852 and died in 1924.
