Bluffton Public Library announces 2020 “Non-event Fundraiser”
Bluffton Public Library invites you to not be a part of a fundraising event this year. Stay at home! Wear comfy clothes! No babysitter is needed!
This year has been a challenge for everyone, as COVID-19 has done much to disrupt our daily lives. Between the original Stay-at-Home Order and the frequently changing status of our county, we have seen far fewer people inside the library. This has been a necessary measure to protect the health of our community, and much thought has gone into it.
Despite the pandemic, library usage has remained steady. Library staff gratefully continue to offer patrons both physical and digital materials, as well as the resources to safely connect within the community. Curbside pickup services, digital programming, at-home activities, and local collaborations have made for quite a busy year at the library.
However, one program we are unable to adapt is the annual Holiday Gift Silent Auction. This fundraiser, and other annual monetary donations, are essential to the library. They enable the library to encourage reading, education, and community awareness, and to nurture a population with varying circumstances and evolving needs. This is why library staff have created a new, “Non-event Fundraiser,” in which you can continue supporting the library right from your home.
How does it work? The library accepts monetary donations through mail or online. Please mail your tax-deductible donation to the library at:
Bluffton Public Library
Attn: Donations
145 S. Main St.
Bluffton, OH 45817
or donate to the library online via your debit or credit card by clicking the link to the library’s Paypal account at blufftonpubliclibrary.org/donate.
All donations to Ohio public libraries are tax-deductible, as defined by state law. When you make a donation, please contact the library to receive the tax ID number.
So, put your feet up, grab a mug of your favorite hot beverage, and give back to your community from the comfort of your home. Help us reach our goal to raise $2,000. Any amount of donation helps the library to provide invaluable support for essential community services for all ages, including:
- Early literacy development & storytimes,
- Ongoing adult, children, family, and teen programs,
- Outreach services and delivery to the homebound,
- Tech tutoring,
- Programs and services to area schools and homeschooling families,
- Community events,
- And so much more.
Library staff are thankful for the wonderful patrons, community members, and businesses that support the library. The Village of Bluffton boasts a community that supports education and the arts, diversity, and fairness, and we are proud to share in that tradition. Thank you, in advance, for your continued support.
