Tickets on sale: Library Tea, Oct. 27
Got tickets? The Friends of the Library Autumn Tea will be held from 4:30-6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27 at in the Richland Room in the lower level of the Bluffton Public Library, 145 S. Main.
A formal English-style tea will be served including finger sandwiches, scones and dainty desserts on fine china.
The event includes live entertainment by the Rainbow Dulcimers and a Silent Auction of interesting books and other items.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the Bluffton Public Library. All proceeds benefit the Bluffton Public Library.
Jessica Hermiller, library director, notes that the Friends' contributions have "supported a multitude of projects at the library, from projector and screen updates for the meeting room, to updates to the children's area. They've contributed to our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program from the very beginning and often donate both time and treats for children and family programs and the library's Hot Tea Tuesdays. The Friends organize and host annual used book sales and maintain the ongoing book sale in the library."
Another way to assist in this work is to join the Friends. A donation of $5 or more makes you a Friend. Visit the library for an application to begin or renew your support.
You can also volunteer or help find new ways to support Bluffton's library. Monthly Friends meetings are held at the library (however, you do not have to attend meetings to be involved.)
The next meeting of the Friends will be Thursday, Nov. 17 at 4:00 p.m. on the main floor of the library.
