The Bluffton High School tradition of Seniors painting the street went off without a drop of rain and with many splatters of paint.
On May 13 the BHS Class of 2024 spread itself across the stretch of College Ave. between Main and Jackson streets armed with paint, rollers, stencils and even a leaf blower paint dryer.
The spectacle of painting the street drew onlookers including friends and family from multiple generations.
Some seniors collaborated on group designs while others reflected that they are going solo on college adventures. Many university logos were recreated. One standout design features a disc golf course; another shows a graduate in cap and gown heading down a path that disappears over the horizon.
By the end of the painting session, many students were covered in paint. High school secretary Julie Oberly called all together for a group photo on a vast painted 2024 circled by hand prints.
