The first Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce meeting of the Sept. 2024-May 2025 season took place on Friday, September 13. Local business and non-profit representatives as well as individual members attended the breakfast and program on the third floor of Bluffton Town Hall.
BACC director Jim Enneking invited members to make announcements, which included the following:
Bluffton Athletic Boosters
Denise Rex showed the commemorative coasters that are being sold as part of celebrations for the 100th anniversary of Harmon Field. Order deadline is October 20.
Bluffton Craft Show
100 swag bags will be given away to the first shoppers to attend the event at Bluffton High School on Saturday, September 28. Event Facebook page.
Bluffton Farmers Market
The Saturday morning markets will run through the month of October and have included 29 vendors. Event Facebook page.
Bluffton Icon
The Icon encouraged all event organizers to send information for the new "What brings you to Bluffton?" listing on the Classified ads page.
Bluffton Public Library
Director Jessica Hermiller announced that the Bluffton Public Library will resume its Holiday Gift silent auction with the support of donations from local businesses and individuals.
Bluffton Soccer Club
Tyler and Ashley Gleason gave an overview about the Bluffton Soccer Club and fundraising for a 7-field soccer complex on land donated by SumiRiko of Ohio. Groundbreaking will happen this fall.
Greenhorn Block Party
Jonah Agner announced that Greenhorn restaurant will host the 3rd annual block party with DJ Stacy Hotwaxx Hale and pianist Joel Starkey on September 28. Jacomet’s Martial Arts will lead standing yoga and tai chi activities.

Tony Jacomet announced that the school is open for classes from September-May. He noted there are currently some 5-6 classes taught each evening.
PromoHits: Bluffton Pirates bucket hats
Melinda Bowden announced that there are a few Bluffton Pirate bucket hats available for $12. This project raises funds for the Eli Jones memorial scholarship fund.
Scarecrow Decorations
The chamber is inviting local businesses and organizations to decorate the business community with scarecrows–and other creative decorations made of straw beginning October 4.
Vine Street Weekends
Liz Gordon-Hancock announced that games and convertible bench-tables will continue to be set up on Vine during weekends through October and thanked sponsors for their support of this new downtown feature.
