SEPT 11 MEDIA RELEASE__The public is invited to the Schumacher Homestead, 8350 Bixel Rd., during the annual Bluffton Fall Festival. The celebration takes place on Saturday, September 27, at 8350 Bixel Road, between Bluffton and Pandora, from 10:00-3:00. 

DEMONSTRATIONS
Demonstrations and exhibits will be featured throughout the buildings and outdoors, including the new Heritage Center. All activities are free; donations are appreciated. 

Docents will be on hand as visitors tour the house, garden, summer kitchen, workshop and barn.

FESTIVAL FOODS
Food will be available beginning at 11:00 a.m.. Volunteers will make popcorn over a fire, with soup also served. Visitors can enjoy bread, Swiss cheese, apple butter, and cider. Swiss cheese and cheddar will be for sale, some smoked on site in the old smokehouse. 

FOR CHILDREN
Children of all ages may participate in games, corn shelling and look at farm animals. A straw maze will be set up, along with horse and wagon rides.

MUSIC
Performances will take place throughout the day.

A new gravel parking area is located at the Heritage Center. Both the farmhouse and Heritage Center are air conditioned.
