Bluffton girls basketball hot-handed vs. Ben Logan

BELLEFONTAINE__Four Bluffton High School girls basketball players scored in double figures as the visiting Pirates blew out Ben Logan 72-45 in a non-league contest on Tuesday, November 25.

Pirate junior Gracie Warren led the balanced Bluffton attack with 16 points. Sophomores Maelee Miller and Taylin Goldman each netted a dozen points, while Macy Schaadt added 10 markers.

The Pirates improved to 3-0 with the lopsided road victory. BL fell to 0-1 after losing their opener. 

Warren scored eight of her points in the first period to pace the Pirates to a whopping 21-5 lead. The visitors stretched the margin to 38-17 at halftime as Warren added five more markers.

Miller splashed seven third-stanza points to help extend the margin to 59-30. Goldman netted three baskets in the final quarter, which was won by the Raiders 15-13.

Junior Greta Meyers contributed eight points, while senior Blair Utendorf added seven markers.

Raider freshman Jozie Taylor nailed three treys in the final period to lead BL with 12 points.

Bluffton canned 27 two-point goals and drilled three triples. The Pirate girls converted nine of their 16 free throws (56 percent).

The Raider girls hit 12 two-pointers and drained five trifectas. But BL canned just six of 17 foul shots (35 percent).

The Pirates are idle for 11 days until they host unbeaten Putnam County League foe Ottoville (3-0) on Saturday, December 6. The Big Green whipped Lincolnview 53-30 Tuesday night.
