Grant Gesler wins Bluffton Middle School spelling bee
By Paula Pyzik Scott
This week 13 students competed in the 2025 Bluffton Middle School Spelling Bee. The event lasted nine rounds with students in grades 6-8 testing their ability to spell out loud for three judges and an audience of family members.
Seventh grader Grant Gesler was the last speller standing after correctly spelling "onslaught." Seventh grader Sim Phillips placed second. Gesler will now represent Bluffton Middle School at Allen County and regional spelling bees.
Three BMS teachers coordinated the event. Judges were Becky Boblitt and Natalie Armstrong. Hailey Colligan was the spelling bee reader.
