Bluffton's Ten Thousand Villages shop, 115 S. Main, has officially changed its name to World Goods Et Cetera. The change came after store volunteers and board members considered nearly 30 names.
Previously, Ten Thousand Villages was part of a chain including 13 company-owned stores. In 2025, the parent company decided to spin off its brick-and-mortar locations and focus the brand on wholesaling and e-commerce.
According to Bluffton store manager Wendy Chappel-Dick, the change allows the Bluffton shop to introduce a wider variety of products such as Native American artwork and cards. “It’s been fun coming up with new items.” says Chappel-Dick.
Wendy designed the store’s new logo and explained her intention, “The circle was designed based on a star compass and Christmas star because we sell a lot of those items.”
The Ten Thousand Villages company continues to be the Bluffton shop's largest supplier. “When they say something is fair trade, we know that relationship goes way back,” said Chappell-Dick.
World Goods Et Cetera is a sister company of Bluffton’s Et Cetera Shop and Book Reviews Etc., all owned by a nonprofit organization with board representatives from Bluffton Presbyterian, English Lutheran Church (Bluffton), First Mennonite Church (Bluffton), Grace Mennonite Church (Pandora) and Salem Mennonite (Elida).
