Barbara S. Parkins worked for Health Pro
Barbara S. Parkins, 87, passed away April 4, 2026, at the Meadows of Delphos. Barbara was born January 18, 1939, in Beaverdam to the late John and Louise (Kirkendall) Manahan.
Barbara retired from Health Pro in Lima and also had worked at Triplett Corporation in Bluffton and Westinghouse in Lima. Barbara was a wonderful, nurturing mother and grandmother who was the happiest with her family. She encouraged her daughters to go to college and supported them always throughout her life. Barbara attended many of her grandchildren's and great-nephews' sporting events. She loved the state of Texas, where her mother was born, and visited many times. Barbara was an amazing cook, loved sweets, enjoyed reading and gardening and was a faithful servant of the Lord.
Survivors include two daughters, Jill (Nick) Niese of New Bavaria, Joyce (Jim) Bochenek of Lima; seven grandchildren. Adrienne (Austin) Jostpille of Delphos, Seth (Kendra) Fuller of Cridersville, Brayden Bochenek of Lima, Landon Bochenek of Lima, Hunter (Karissa) Niese of Leipsic, Marissa (Josh) Kerr of Hilliard, Kirsten (Barkot) Gebremichael of Hilliard; nine great-grandchildren, Kayden, Ariana, and Kourtland Kerr, Emery Fuller, Aiden, Dawson, and Mason Jostpille, Julian and Joah Gebremichael and a sister, Patsy Giovinazzo of Bluffton.
Barbara was preceded in death by a sister, Lanelle Augsburger.
Barbara's service will begin at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Bluffton. William Herr officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Alzheimer's Association.
