Marilyn Sue Schiffer-Kline was a teacher and school administrator
Marilyn Schiffer Kline born July 17, 1937 and passed June 29, 2026. Born to the late J. Max and Alice (Nemire) Crawfis. She was the wife of Jerry Schiffer, who also preceded her in death, and Jerry Kline.
Marilyn was a 1955 graduate of Pandora-Gilboa High School and a 1958 graduate of Bluffton University. She received her Vocational Certificate from The Ohio State University; a Master’s from Michigan State and a Master’s from the University of Toledo. She was a retired Toledo Board of Education staff member. Marilyn started her teaching career in Leipsic, Ohio, from 1958-1959, then at DeVilbiss High School for eight years, starting in 1959, where she continued as a Counselor for eight more years and finally the Assistant Principal for ten years. She then became Assistant Director of Planning, Research and Evaluation until her retirement in 1998. She then started working at Bersticker Scott Funeral Home from 1998 to 2010.
She is also survived by her sister, Joan Oglesbee, Columbus Grove; niece, Jackie (Roger) Brinkman; nephews, Jeff (Pam) Oglesbee, James (Linda) Oglesbee, and Dave Walter; stepson, Charles (Sandy) Kline; stepdaughter, Susan Bassett; four step-grandchildren; many great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by brother-in-law, Jack Oglesbee and niece, Juleen Walter.
A memorial service will be on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 11:00 am at St. John's Community Church, 205 N. High Street, Columbus Grove, Ohio, with visitation one hour prior from 10:00-11:00 a.m., with Pastor Kyle Thain officiating. Burial to follow at Harmon Cemetery, Gilboa, Ohio.
